SHAZAM! What Does It Stand For?

Black Adam.

Everyone knows Shazam but do you know that the Black Adam is the real Shazam? Black Adam received his powers around some million years back during the ages of Pharaoh. Black Adam has been largely defined as Shazam's perennial nemesis. Though armed with godly powers and devil-like rage, he is a servant of justice with a strict moral code.

Though Black Adam derives his powers by saying the word "SHAZAM", the word invokes the powers of not only the white-bearded wizard, but pf the six Egyptian gods: Shu, Heru, Amon, Zehuti, Aton and Mehen which shortens up for Shazam!

'S' stands for the god Shu, a deity that imbibes Black Adam with incredible endurance and the ability to survive nearly any kind of counterattack.

'H' stands for the speed of Heru, which enables Black Adam to fly faster than 2 miles per second on earth and at lightspeed in outer space. He's so fast that he once loaned Heru's power to The Flash himself.

'A' signifies the power of Amon, which helps make Black Adam one of the most powerful superheroes in the whole universe.

'Z' stands for the knowledge and wisdom of Zehuti, which gives Black Adam a level of intelligence uncommon in the average superhero. He can also speak multiple languages and hypnotise people.

'A' delivers the force of Aton, enabling Adam to wield thunderbolts, travel across dimensions and even change forms at will.

'M' represents the fortitude of Mehen, giving him boundless courage and an inner reserve of strength to enable rapid healing during battles.

The below page shows us that the Black Adam was part of the Sinestro Corps, the rival group of the Green Lantern Corps...
